JazzProfiles: Jazz Readers

I hope you will excuse this unabashed effort at self-promotion.

As some of you who frequent this site may be aware, for the past three years I have been compiling anthologies made up of articles, commentaries and interviews about Jazz and its makers.

Beginning with Gerry Mulligan and following with Dave Brubeck, Bill Evans, Stan Kenton, Shelly Manne, three volumes of Jazz on the West Coast, Volume 1 on Jazz Drummers and a compilation of longer essays entitled Jazz Profiles, there have been ten anthologies in the series so far with more to come.

[I hope to publish Jazz Drummers A Reader Volume 2 later in July 2025.]

Each is available as a paperback and eBook exclusively from Amazon.com. Just search the books category under Steven Cerra. The paperbacks are priced at $24.99 and the eBooks sell for $9.99.

We are all so busy these days that I thought a collection of articles would be easier to read than full length books on a given subject or personality.

You can sample one of the selections in the Readers authored in about 30 minutes or less, and then return to other pieces in the books as time permits.

50% of the royalties from the sale of the book are being donated to the local school district to help students purchase their own musical instruments.

A full listing of each of the Readers is available in the sidebar of this blog. Just scroll down the right hand side of this site to review them.

I have maintained this blog as a gift to my friends since 2008

Thank you for considering the purchase of one or more of the Readers as a way of showing your continuing support for my efforts.
